2 iPhone 5s not chraging with any charger cable?

Me and my sister both have an iPhone 5s. Her charger wasn't working, so she took mine. It charged her phone, but next time she plugged it in it wouldn't charge. I plugged the charger into my phone and it will not charge mine either. Neither charger is working on any phone. Should I buy a new charger or send them in to apple?

First you need to determine whether or not its the both the phones (unlikely) or just the charger. Are these the cables that came with the phones? Any use of unofficial Lightning cables are highly unrecommended by Apple. Does your sister's cable have any fraying or shorts of any kind? She could be bending the cord at close to the tip which messes up the cord over time (see photo). If you truly feel that both of the phones have an issue feel free to use Apple's easy-to-use support site. (http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/repair/)

  • This cable or accessory is not certified and may not work reliably with this iPhone? I have a life proof case and I took it under water. I noticed some water inside the case so I took it off and saw that there was water on the outside of the phone. Ever since then a note pops up every 15-30 seconds saying "This cable or accessory is not certified and may not work reliably with this phone". What should I do? Is there a way to fix it? My phone is virtually unusable since this annoying message keeps popping up. Any help would be appreciated.
  • This cable is not recommended for this iPhone and may not be reliable? I recently bought a new but un-Apple-certified lightning cord for my iPhone 5c, but this error message has started popping up after about using it about 5 times. Now, my phone is completely dead, and I have no money to buy a new cable, no cable that will charge my phone, and a dead phone. I'm completely desperate for help here, since, like a cliche white girl, my phone is my life.
