Are free iphone apps really free?

I know the apps themselves are free but do you get charged by the phone companies at all for data usage, storage, etc?

No, there's no other charges. Some that do internet stuff obviously involves data like facebook, twitter, etc, but not something that just runs on your iphone like write on picture apps, taking notes apps, etc.

Yes the "free" Idevice apps are 100% free. The only way you would get charged is for obvious reaaons you purchased a paid app. As far as data, that has nothing to do with apple. That is regulated through your service provider (ex: t-mobile, att, Verizon) with your service plan. If you have unlimited data you have nothing to worry about. No charge for storage unless you're backing up your phone data and you buy more cloud storage. But again all "free" apps are free!

Well if using a data connection to download the app then yes you get charged for that.
Of course the app takes space so if you want to call that a 'charge' then yes you do as well.

people on free Wi-Fi and/or unlimited cellular data plans have no worries… There are no overages.ever!
