Are iPhones a status symbol?

Because everyone at my school has one and it's like why is everyone such a follower? And some ppl r like "I have an iPhone 4 or 4s & I'm gonna get the 5s yay" like why do you need a whole new iPhone if it runs all the same software?

No. They are not. A Mercedes Benz or a Mansion are a status symbol.

They are trendy. Don't be afraid to get your own brand and model.

Cause like the other user said it's trendy. Though people at my school prefer Samsung and think it's cool like 65% of my grade have it the other have iphones.

Well, the new iPhone 5s has a new feature that you can't use on the iPhone 4s.

Yea, everyone wants an Apple product, I only have an iPod so far, but i'm soon going to get a MAC and an iPhone, because I'm a follower with no brain.

Think about it, these followers will be miserable for the rest of their lives. They may seem happy with their toys mommy and daddy paid for but in reality they're just brainwashed sheep that has to follow every trend. Soon some will have to pay for their own s(hit) and struggle financially like the rest of the sad adults on this planet. Just be happy that your young. Don't worry about not having everything. Love yourself. Materialistic stuff won't fulfill you.

New versions have far better hardware… Far better. Plus now you can trade in the old and get $ for it, buy a new one on contract, and pay almost nothing and have a new version.
Plus companies like samsung are known for just being copycats, even now they are trying to get a gold colored phone to copy apple again.
