Are you able to upgrade old iPhones?

I have a old iPhone 4 (completely worn down) and I would like to upgrade to a new iPhone 6. I don't want my mom to pay for the new phone (I'm on her plan) but I'm in need of a new one. Can I upgrade? If not what should I do?

You need to check with your carrier. Usually after 1 or 2 years you are eligible to upgrade.
Since the iPhone 6 and 6s plus are the newest from Apple, then you are probably still gonna have to pay an upgrade fee. Like I said before you should really check with your Carrier.
Or if you have a part/full time job, save some money then go on ebay, amazon, Facebook or even CL to see if you can buy either an unlocked one or one that's already using your carrier's towers. Make sure that they have a clean ESN!
Best of luck!

If you're eligible for an upgrade then sure you can upgrade at discounted price. But if you're not eligible for upgrade, you've to pay the full retail of the phone. Like, $199 with upgrade and $649 without upgrade. If you're not eligible for upgrade, just get the phone from outside your carrier and activate with your SIM card. You'll save a lot there. If you need help with getting the iPhone 6 without contract or unlocked at reasonable price, mail me for more info.

You don't upgrade the phone. You just replace it. I don't know why you'd ask this question without saying what your carrier is. If it's verizon and you don't know your upgrade date just dial #874. I wouldn't buy any new phone before the new iphone comes out and prices drop on older iPhones. If Apple follows it's pattern a new iPhone should be revealed a week or so after Labor day, with actual release shortly thereafter. Of purse you'd like the newer phone - but if you're on budget you have to weigh cost and benefit and make mature decisions.

  • Will I be able to get a new iPhone if my old one is broken? One of the speakers doesn't work on my iPhone, I think it's broken. Anyway, I just got my new iPhone 5 half year ago, and my phone plan is under AT&T. Will I be able to get a new one for free since it's only half year old and I didn't intentionally destroy it? Do I have to schedule an appointment? Should I go to the apple retail store or ATT dealership?
  • Where does the old iOS go after you upgrade your iPhone? Currently my iPhone is running on iOS 8 and i'm planning to iOS 9 since it has be officially revealed by Apple. I want to know do they save the old files of the previous version of iOS (iOS 8.4 in my case) in phone's memory? If not do the old files get deleted?
  • What would you do if you were watching your favorite show, and your 20 year old kid turned off the TV so that you couldn't watch it? I pay all the bills at the house. I normally watch AHS once a week with my kid. This week, she told me to go watch it in my own room. I told her my TV wasn't working and we would just have to watch it in her room. She turned off the TV so that I couldn't watch it. Then, she pompously pulled out her iPhone and proceeded to watch it on her iPhone. What would you do if this happened to you?
  • What are you not able to do if you don't download iOS 7? I'm getting my new iPhone tomarrow in the mail. I have had a couple iPhones before so I know a lot about them except for one thing. If you keep iOS 6 on your phone, are there restrictions about having it? Will you not be able to do certain things that you were able to do before?
