Can a laptop turn on an iPhone?
Ok, stupid question but i broke my home button so i can't get out of the messages app to get to the settings app to set up the assisted touch thing so just trying to find ways around it
It can in exactly the same way a charger can, but only if your phone has already shut down due to a flat battery.
But no need to wait. Press and hold the power button and wait for the "slide to power off" message. Wait for the phone to completely turn off and then turn it back on. Enter your PIN number to unlock the phone and then go to Settings>General>Accessibility>Assistive Touch>On.
Then just drag and drop the virtual home button wherever you like on screen. I used to find somewhere near the top edge and to the left kept it out of the way of most things, but it's easily repositioned whenever you need to do so.

Then when your phone turns on, it'll be on the lock screen then you can easily access your settings!
