Can an iphone 6 through straight talk be unlocked to run on Verizon towers instead of at&t towers?

I currently have an iphone 4s bought from the straight talk website and it runs on Verizon towers. I paid $700 to upgrade to an iphone 6 and found out that they run on at&t towers. There are none of those towers in my area. I was wondering if it is possible to unlock them to run on Verizon towers? Or if I bought a Verizon iphone 6 and transferred it to straight talk would it run on Verizon towers?

As far as I know, you will not get any GSM phones to work on Verizon's CDMA network, unless they also happen to have a domestic CDMA radio in them.

  • What SIM card should I use to put my unlocked Verizon Iphone 5c on straight talk? I just purchased a GSM unlocked Verizon Iphone 5c and am currently trying to put it on straight talk. I've purchased the BYOP kit from walmart and I know I need to use the nano sim but IIm not sure if I should use the at&t compatible SIM card or the T mobile? Or does it not matter? Any feedback would be really appreciated.
  • Unlocked Verizon iPhone on straight talk? My friend wants to buy my iPhone, which is unlocked and off contract, but its carrier is still currently Verizon. For him to be able to put it on straight talk, would he need to get a straight talk sim card to change the carrier, or what? How would we go about doing this.
  • Straight Talk and iPhone 4s (VSW towers) I recently bought an unlocked iPhone 4S (originally from AT&T) from a lady at work. I'm switching to Straight Talk. In my area, Verizon gets the best service. I know that ST uses GSM phones. Another lady at work says that her family got ST phones that use Verizon towers. I was curious if ST uses Verizon towers and if this iPhone 4S will use those towers when I activate and port my number? I want to have good service, so I'm hoping if it will bounce off of the Verizon towers here.
  • IPhone 5 (Straight Talk, Verizon Towers) Can be used on AT&T or T-Mobile? I bought the Straight Talk iPhone 5 at full price, it uses the Verizon Towers, but Verizon doesn't cover my home very well, and I'm wanting to purchase the Straight Talk SIM card, that uses the AT&T towers and get the SIM card cutter tool, but my question is will this work?
