Can i do rotc through community college?

I'm 18 and in high school this is my last year and honestly i didn't do to good at all and i didn't take my SAT or ACT so there are no 4 years schools that would take me right now so i want to go through two years of community college and do really well so i can transfer to a 4 year school that offers ROTC but thats not for a LONG time.

Is there something i can do now to prepare? Or some how get involved? All my friends just enlisted to the USMC and i want to enlist army but my father would kill me and i wanna be an officer anyway because well… Its an officer but i'm very impatient and i wanna get involved so what could i do?

Btw i live in long island NY and sorry about spelling i'm on my iphone

The army ROTC program has a very popular way to do ROTC call ECP (early commissioning program) it's available at junior military colleges and other community colleges. It shoves all 4 years of ROTC into two years. At the end of the two years you get a commission.

You still have to obtain a bachelors to actually start working though. Your contract and your training only start after you transfer to a four year and finish getting your degree. (After two years of community college, it only takes two more years at a four year to get a degree, provided that you take enough classes in community college)

The other option is regular ROTC through a community college. Four year universities with ROTC have "crosstown universities". These schools are the other local colleges, sometimes community colleges, that you can do ROTC at. You will go to the four year university to take the classes and do pt though. After two years of community college, you are expected to transfer to a four year, continue ROTC, and work towards your bachelors. After two more years of school and ROTC, you gain a commission and go off to training.

So both options require four years of college and a bachelors, there's no getting around that. The first option just shortens the amount of time it takes to complete ROTC, and you get your commission sooner.

All that said, I wanted to be an officer for a while because my family expected me to go to college. But when I thought about it, I Really don't want to go to college. The thought of four more years of school makes me cringe. And I have a 4.0 and take AP classes! I know I don't want college, so I'm going to enlist, try for EOD, and work on a class at a time for a while.
Best of luck!
