Can I get my Sprint iPhone 4 flashed to work on Verizon?
I bought a Sprint iPhone 4 from a friend and I was wondering how I can go about getting it used on my Verizon account. I read up on unlocking and found out that due to CDMA Networking, just unlocking wouldn't allow it to be used through Verizon. Then I found out about flashing and I just wanna know if that would work and allow me to get it activated on my Verizon account. Lol just trying to save myself a disappointing trip to a wireless store. Any help would be GREAT.
Flashing alone will not allow a phone from Sprint to work on Verizon, as Verizon has a database of all of the devices's ESNs that are allowed for use on Verizon.
The rub is that Verizon officially does not allow what you are proposing to be done. There are ways around it, such as ESN cloning, but ESN cloning is not legal in the US, and some states, such as New York, treat ESN cloning as a crime as well.
If you were thinking about unlocking your Iphone I would strongly recommend not buy the unlock from your carrier as they charge up to 150 dollars to unlock it.
