Can I loose data ony iPhone when updating to the new version?

You should be fine updating provided your phone is on charge and/or is over 50%. Otherwise it shouldn t, but I do recommend charging it even if it is over 50%.
No you will not lose your data but incase you need to back up
Updating always carries the risk of data loss. Backup your phone first.
No you don't but at the same time no harm in doing a backup before hand
- Will updating my iPhone apps affect my phone speed as how updating the Operating System (OS) will? Currently I'm using the iPhone 5s on iOS 8.3 I know if I were to update my phone to the latest OS I may notice some slowdown on my phone's performance, since it may not have the "muscle" to handle certain functions. Many apps now are optimised for iOS 9 and/or the 6th generation phones. Will my 5s' speed performance slow down if I update my apps? Will the app's performance slow down?
- Will my iphone loose all it's music if plugged into a new computer? My brother gave me his iphone, but i'm afraid to plug it into my computer because i did this with an ipod and all the stuff got erased. I really don't want to loose all his music. Is there a way to get around that?
- Will i loose all my data in this iphone sync? So i got the iphone 5s for christmas and its my first time plugging it into my computer, my options are backing it up as a phone last backed up from 2012 or set up as new iphone will setting up as a new phone erase all my current data?!
