Can i put a virgin mobile sim card in an iphone?

Last week i lost my new blackberry bold 9900, and since it wasn't insured i can't get a new one, and to buy one it would cost me over £400.
so i thought i might buy myself a iphone 4, however before doing so, i would like to know would it be possible to put my virgin mobile sim card in the iphone?

I phones can't have sim cards or SD cards you have to download everything from the app store or iTunes

I'm not 100% sure but I think the IPhone muste be by that carrier, Virgin Mobile. If buying it from an unknown source I beleve you can check the first five or six digits of the IPhone serial number. But just because the IPhone takes a sim doesn't means it will work if its not with that carrier.

  • Will a sim card from tmobile work in a Virgin Mobile iphone 4s? The virgin mobile iphone 4s has a sim card slot, so if i put a tmobile sim will it work? If the iphone isn't activated with a virgin mobile. Or if i buy a iphone 4s from the apple website without any service will it work with virgin mobile?

I know that it is possible to put a sim card from a different network nto a phone if its unlocked. I think it i possible to put a virgin mobile sim card in an IPhone… I have been recently told that you may loose some services if i was to do this. Has anyone successfully put a virgin sim in an IPhone? Has there been any issues by doing so?
