Can I replace my iPhone after mouthwash was spilled on it?
So my roomate knocked a cup of mouthwash onto my iPhone 5 during the middle of the night, and I woke up to find a puddle of it on my phone. There are blotches underneath the screen now, and they won't go away. The phone still works and everything, but the discoloration of the screen is bothersome. I know apple won't replace water damaged phones under warranty, but technically it's not water damaged as according to the sims card port (it's still white colored). Will the apple store still replace my phone? Any thoughts would be helpful!
Simple answer… No - just because the indicator in the back is still white doesn't mean it hasn't got liquid/moisture damage.
you will find it hard to claim from the warranty. I can see you live in the US isn't there a repair shop near you that you can take it to. Maybe you should get your friend to pay for the damages or take the hit yourself because you are a understanding friend and the mouthwash was in a weird place anyway…

- Spilled water on my iPhone 4s the other day. Now doesn't work? So, the other day i was watching a movie in my house and I knocked over my class of water. There was only ice in it but still it got all over the table. I thought i cleaned it all up but by the end of the movie when I was cleaning up i realized an ice cube must have landed on my phone and melted. So i dried it out and everything but now 2 days later after the battery fully died last night this morning it won't turn on.
- Spilled nail polish remover on my iPhone? I spilled nail polish remover on my iPhone this morning. It now has a black splotch on the screen, but the phone is now dry and still functioning properly. Is teen works perfectly fine, speakers work fine, seemingly everything is okay. The nail polish has acetone. What will this do to my phone? And how long will the effects of the acetone take place?
