Can I sell my Samsung and get an iPhone when it's still under contract?
I have had a Samsung ch@t since June. I want to sell it still under contract and get an iPhone. It is on tesco mobile, but if I sell it and the person I sell it to stops paying the contract will I get in trouble because my names under the contract?
You can sell the phone by itself as a standalone device, but if you want to sell it with the contract included, you must speak to the network about transferring the contract to the name of the new buyer, so that they own both the phone and contract. If you don't do this, the buyer could run up huge bills in your name, then refuse to pay the contract altogether, leaving you with the bills until the end of the contract. If the network say that they can't transfer the contract to the new buyer, then back out of the sale.
I would suggest that you sell JUST the phone, not the contract, and buy a iPhone (or any phone you fancy) for the full retail price, then put your current contract sim in the new phone. This way, it doesn't matter to you how the buyer uses the Ch@t phone, as you will not have to pay for any usage they make on it.
Yes, if they stop paying it the bills and blame will come back to you. The best thing you could do in a situation like this is loan the money to get an iPhone, then get your service switched over to the iPhone then sell your Samsung to cover part if the expenses.
There are a number of concern that all stem round the proposal you wish and All are costly as an Iphone is involved
The fist answer is 100% accurate however the iPhone factor comes into play
iPhones are just overpriced and because you pay more for an iphone it does NOT mean you are getting the same, clearly you are getting much much less
The price paid or tariffs commanded (no demanded) by iPhones… On any every network defy logic and gravity!
RE IPHONE 4
IP4 worst possible selection, it is 3 years old and will be DISCONTINUED in later this year, 2013. On 12/09/2012 Apple releases IP5 drops IP 3GS
In 2013 releases IP6 drops… IP4.
Are there any other 3 year old phone being offered? It may be the most affordable "iPhone" now but many are starting contract now for this "moribund" phone which will be 5 years since launched when they finish it in 2015, albeit new 8GB non expandable single core
The iPhone4 distinction is that it was the first iPhone to have camera flash! 2010

http://www.itproportal.com/2012/09/06/8gb-iphone-4s-version-be-introduced-iphone-5-launch/#ixzz2E
IP4S like the iP4 'highlights' good and BAD in near equal amounts
IP5 note source IP5
So as all iPhone are UBER expensive, costS! NEW 16Gb Ip5 £529.00
Maths £529.00 /24 = £22.04, this is the amount the contract goes up by so you have to add that to the contract you are paying now
Finally the IP5 is 4G LTE on EE ONLY
The IP5 is NOT 4G LTE ready [READY BEING THE OPERATIVE WORD] so when Tesco mobile by virtue of O2 start 4G LTE later within months, all IP5 no matter where bought will NOT be 4G LTE on O2 or Vodafone as IP5 only have the 1800 MHz band used on on EE!
No doubt the IP5S ( IP6) whatever the next iphone is will be 4G LTE but as everybody except Apple*** produced 4G LTE ready! Phones {READY] for All networks not just EE

I've also heard people who are able to unlock their phones even under contract. So I'm planning on calling AT&T tomorrow. How is it that some people can unlock their phone under contract?
