Can I switch to AT&T Next without early termination fee?

I have had a two-year contract with AT&T for my iPhone 4s since last year (July 5th, 2013). I want to purchase the iPhone 6 but I'm only about a year and 2 months into my contract. My online account says that my number is "AT&T Next eligible" but I'm still on my two-year contract. If I switch to AT&T Next 18 right now will I be charged an early termination fee since I'm on my two year contract still? Or will that be overlooked because I'm not leaving AT&T but am switching to AT&T Next? Thank you!

I'm on my parents shared mobile data plan. We don't use much data so we share 4GB if that makes any difference.

  • What will happen if I don't pay my termination fee? So I have an 2 iPhone 6's and an iPhone 5s combined have a total etf of like $1300 and I'm not paying that. I planned to sell the phones to try to pay it off but what if I sell it to an AT&T customer? (Phones came from AT&T) can they just pop their SIM card in and the phone will work since it's locked to att?
  • Verizon Wireless Termination Fee? I was planning on canceling my plan with verizon wireless. The termination fee is "$175, or $350 if you purchased an Advanced Device". I have two iphones and two regular phones with my plan. Does this mean I have to pay to terminate each phone plan separately or will it be a total of $350 dollars because I own an advanced device?
  • Verizon iphone 5 early termination? If i buy the iphone 5 32g from verizon with 2yr contract for $299 and then cancel the service after 20 days by paying required $350 early termination fee, does this mean that i will own the iphone for total of $649 (299+350) and switch to other carrier? canceling after 20days is because if i terminate the service in 14 days, i have to return the device
