Can I use my Verizon iPhone 5 on Straight Talk?

I got a iPhone 5 on Verizon a couple months back. This wasn't a very good decision for me as I'm a poor college student and $130/Month is just too much for me. So can I use the iPhone 5 I have now and just bring it to straight talk? I know straight talk uses Verizon towers… So wouldn't my phone already be provisioned for that? I'm just trying to save myself money since I'd already have to pay Verizon about 300 to cancel my contract. I don't want to have to buy a straight talk iPhone as well. But $45/month and unlimited data is right up my ally.

Yes but you have to get the phone unlocked

  • What SIM card should I use to put my unlocked Verizon Iphone 5c on straight talk? I just purchased a GSM unlocked Verizon Iphone 5c and am currently trying to put it on straight talk. I've purchased the BYOP kit from walmart and I know I need to use the nano sim but IIm not sure if I should use the at&t compatible SIM card or the T mobile? Or does it not matter? Any feedback would be really appreciated.
  • IPhone 5 (Straight Talk, Verizon Towers) Can be used on AT&T or T-Mobile? I bought the Straight Talk iPhone 5 at full price, it uses the Verizon Towers, but Verizon doesn't cover my home very well, and I'm wanting to purchase the Straight Talk SIM card, that uses the AT&T towers and get the SIM card cutter tool, but my question is will this work?
  • How to switch AT&T iPhone 5 to Straight Talk, Keep old Straight Talk number? I bought a used AT&T iPhone 5 off eBay today for my girlfriend. I also bought a NANO Sim for Straight Talk. She wants to keep her old straight talk number. How do I switch everything over so data, mms, etc works and she keeps her number? There's lots of different info out there right now, I just want some definitive instructions on how to make the switch properly.
  • Does the iPhone on Straight Talk use Verizon or Sprint towers? I wanted to know if the iPhone 4S/5 on Straight Talk uses Verizon or Sprint towers. Verizon is really good in my area, and I was thinking about getting the iPhone with them… But the cost is a little too much. Sprint in our area is pretty spotty so I wanted to see what carrier the Straight Talk iPhone has. I saw on Straight Talks website that it is CDMA and to NOT use a sim card.
