Can't get past iPhone password lock. Tried everything?
I purchased an older iPhone at a thrift store for my mom to use and it has a password lock on it.
I have read all the tutorials online to get past the stupid security lock.
I can't get my computer to sync to it since it was never linked as a trusted computer.
I tried doing the whole 'hold down the power and menu button' to put in recovery mode also, but it won't do it. All it does is says it is password locked.
I can't get anything to work. Any suggestions?

That's what happens when you buy a stolen iPhone. There isn't any way around it.
It's not stupid. Its in place for cases like this if people are trying to activate lost/stolen iPhones for themselves.
Should make a better check of what you are purchasing next time.
- Who can tell me how to get past that activation lock on iPhone 5s? I have proof of purchase to an iPhone 5s I purchased from eBay. Apple informed me that they or my phone provider could bypass the activation lock and that is why I purchased the phone for a better price than buying brand new. Then neither the Apple store nor AT&T could help me with my problem. The seller hasn't been much of a help and will not give me the information I need to get past the activation lock, is there another way?
- Is there anyway to get past an iPhone 7 Activation lock? Is there a way to bypass or hard reset? I found this iPhone fishing with no sign of it's owner. There was no sim card in it and it's iCloud locked.
- Is there any real way to get past a icloud lock? I bought a iphone 4 of ebay and it has a icloud lock and i can't send it back. And i've looked online but i don't know what's real and what's not. Can someone please tell me how to do this i know there's a way please help.
- Is there any possible way to get past the activation lock on an iPhone 5? I bought an iPhone from my friends friend. Well he failed to tell me that I needed his username or password to actually use the phone, and I have no contact with this person. Is there any way to get past this or am I out of 80$?
