Can't send pictures with my Iphone 5?

I'm really confused by this. Before the iPhone 5 I had an android phone and I was always able to send pictures. I heard that you need to be connected to cellular data, which worked for me. But why do I need to have that on? Even when I have I message off? I currently have mms turned on and imessage turned off and I still need to be connected to cellular data to send a picture text. Why is this? I did not have this problem with my android phone… I have at&t is that helps.

It's all about plans. If you selected a cheap plan then likely there are restrictions about how you can send photos. I have Verizon and for $110./month I can send photos anytime. But if you elected a cheap plan then likely you are experiencing limitations to your chosen plan. I believe you have to have the data plan and the text messaging plan both if you have Verizon. A friend of mine experienced the same kind of things when he tried to save money by changing to a cheaper plan. None of his applications would function once he gave up his data plan. Frustrating, I know. If you have the full plan and things are not working correctly then you should go to the AT&T store and talk to the clerk. Your phone could be malfunctioning.
