Changing iPhone Logic Board, and Flash Memory confusion?

Changing iPhone Logic Board, and Flash Memory confusion?

Hey so I'm interested in fixing iPhones, from the iPhone 4 up to the iPhone 5S. The only confusion I have is associated with how the logic board and flash memory are concerned with each other.

Where is the Flash Memory located in the iPhone 4/4S, 5/ 5C and 5S. Is it located on the motherboard?
If I was to fix a water damaged phone and had to replace the Logic Board, and would buy one for like 7 dollars from eBay, does that mean that if I change it, and hypothetically speaking nothings been water damaged expect the Logic Board, would the iPhone still work?

Like what does the Logic Board do here, would I still have to re-update the phone because of the new Logic Board?

Also previously said, about the Flash Memory, it is located on the motherboard, I just saw it it was a Samsung K9PFG08 flash memory, would it be completely destroyed?

Furthermore, if I was given a iPhone that was absolutely trashed, like the Logic Board was half gone, if I replaced it with one form eBay would I have to update it, or would it be on like the first version of the iPhone it was programmed to.

Also, if the Flash Memory is 8gb, could I buy one that has a 16gb Flash Memory in it, or is the flash memory not the actual memory card iPhone saves all the stuff to, like photos, videos.

Lastly, if the flash memory is not the internal memory, where is it located on the iphone, and how can I change it?

Flash is located right on the main board. As for version it will be whatever version the donor logic board is on

  • Will changing the logic board on an iphone 5s take it out of recovery mode? My iphone 5s is stuck in recovery mode / DFU. Only get an apple symbol when put on charge which keep flickering on and off. When trying to restore via itunes i keep gettin code 4005 or 3014. Would replacing the logic board fix this? If so would i need to replace any other components at the same time? any other suggestions?
  • Where is the memory storage on an iPhone 4 logic board? If I take apart my iPhone 4 which part of the logic board would have the storage saved from old photos, apps, and text messages. There's a TON of old memories in my iPhone 4 and I'd really love to retrieve them.
  • Where can i buy a iphone 4 logic board? I need a new iphone 4 logic board, i can't afford to get a new iphone, so I was wondering if anybody knows where to get a new motherboard. I looked on ebay, but i'm not so trusting with the sellers on there. If anybody knows of a legit site that won't break the bank, I would really appreciate it.
  • What happens if you replace the logic board in an iphone 4s? I have a Verizon iphone 4s. The logic board is in perfect condition and so is the SIM card, but it is the outer components that are requiring me to get a new phone. I want to just replace the logic board and SIM card from the new phone with my old ones. Is this possible? And once I receive the new phone, can I just install my original logic board and SIM card or should I try to activate the phone first?
