Denon AVR-1913 vs Yamaha RX-V673?

My current receiver is burnt out which was Harman Kardon avr247 (simply great sound).
Now I'm looking for new one, after several week of search I have found these two as my choice within my budget.
but i'm not sure which one should i buy?
I heard denon has its own discrete circuite however, yamaha doesn't have this feature and it have integrated circuite. On other side, Yamahs's iphone app is lot batter than denons.
My first choice is Sound & realibility. Second choice is wirelessely operation thru iphone.

Both are good makes and models so it is a tough choice.

Sound is tricky. If the other features look similar, the old rule is 'buy the heavier unit'. This is because for the amp the Transformer is a important part. An amp with a heavier transformer will run cooler and handle some music demands better than a similar spec amp.

Personally I like the Yamaha RX-V series (I have owned 4 of them) and they have been rock-solid units. But Denon's have a great reputation and I would be happy to have one in my rack.

So if features like iPhone control is important - pick the unit with better control. (but personally - I like a good universal remote like a Harmony Logitech remote).

They are both reliable brands; and the sound quality should be indistinguishable with movies and surround; The Denon might have the edge when listening to SACD's and connected to very high end speaker system, but a lot of that is personal preference also… As someone else may prefer the Yamaha. A lot has to do with your ears and what frequencies you are most sensitive to… I doubt that either one of us could discern one amp from the other in a double blind listening test, and what you prefer over time may be just psychological more than actual sound quality… So I would just get the one that has the features you like and that you feel most comfortable with…

Denon is better.
