Do i HAVE to take apart my iphone to dry it out in rice? - 1

Dropped my iphone in water last night. So this morning i got rice but i don't have the tools to take it apart. Will it still dry it out and work?

Not if the water is inside the phone it won't.

I had a Samsung galaxy y and I dropped it in water. Lucky I took it out within a second, ufortunetly the screen went white and switched off because the water damaged the inside. I took the battery and the case out, after that I put the phone in rice over night… The next day it managed to work but over the months it was still causing problems… Anyway if the phone is water damaged inside I doubt it will work ever Or properly.

I have a apple iphone had a baptism and phone was in my pocket what do I do to dry it out if anything

  • Will the dry rice method still work for an iphone if it has been switched on? I dropped my phone in water and immediately took it out, dried it and turned it on to see if it worked. The phone worked but there was no sound so i googled what to do and i found the dry rice method but it said that you shouldn't turn on your phone but i did (maybe for ten mins?) so i turned it off and put it in a bag full of rice. Will the sound go back to normal because i turned on my phone? Should i put in the bag of rice with the back removed and battery exposed then?
  • Will rice take water out from a iphone screen? My phone was by the windown and somehow water got in the screen ik wondering if the rice will take it out?
  • Will my iphone be ok over night till i dry it out in rice? I won't be able to dry it out till tomorrow. I dropped it in a bucket of water. Will it still work?
  • When can I take my iPhone 4S out of rice? I've already searched answers but nothing seemed to match up. Last night, I dropped my phone in my bath for like two seconds (changing songs). And as soon as it fell, I grabbed it, and ran to my room. I always drop my apple products into water but I usually only shake out the water (it still works after that) but I don't want to run ANY risk with my phone. It's been in there for around 11 1/2 hours, when am I safe to take it out and put it back on the charger?
