Does apple take back iphones with a swollen battery?
About a week ago my iPhone 4's battery started to swell. Right now it is swollen to the point where the back of the phone has almost come off. I was wondering if I can go the apple store and get it checked out. My question is is that will they take my phone and give me a new one/upgrade me to a iPhone 5, or will they just leave me hanging? I don't think I have any warranty on my phone anymore, will that change how they treat me? Please help!
Thank you in advance.
Added (1). And If I do have to pay for it than how much would I cost me?
If the phone was under warranty they would replace it, but since yours is out of warranty you'll probably end up having to pay for it.
They definitely won't upgrade you to an iPhone 5 for free.
Get a decent battery from eBay for $15 and change it yourself if you just follow a YouTube guide.
- Will Apple take back or repair/replace my iphone 4 if I bought it around Christmas? I got it around Christmas since my samsung intensity wouldn't hold a charge unless I had the right charger it liked. So I got the iphone 4 for Christmas because my dad wanted to see how id do with a smartphone. But since it came preinstalled with iOS 6.1.2,(Verizon store) I was wondering if it were to malfunction, could I get a new iphone 4? Or would they tell me to buy an entire new phone?
- Is it best to take my new iPhone 5s back to an Apple Store or to O2? Today I purchased my brand new iPhone 5s and have noticed a rattle which should not be there. It is from the Lock Button, and I have heard this is a common fault? Should I take it straight back to an Apple store, or to O2 where I purchased it from for a free replacement? If I was to take it back to Apple, would I need to wipe the phone first and if they provide me with a new one, will it simply mean placing my O2 sim card back in and restoring from back up?
- My iPhone 5s battery is swollen. Is that dangerous? The top right of my screen keeps popping up. Someone told me it's because the battery is swollen. Is that dangerous? I'm too broke to buy a new phone right now, I have to wait till the summer. Is it safe?
- If a iPhone repair shop (that isn't Apple) opens & replaces your phone battery&that. Does it come back exactly the same as when you bought it? Just I swear last time I got something replaced the screen sits a fraction higher up (so the phone is a tiny littlebit more thicker then before) is this true or no?
