Does sticking your iphone in rice work if its gotten wet?

I was using the B Room and my iphone 4s fell into the toilet. I grabbed it within 5 seconds. If I stick the phone in a bag of uncooked rice, will the phone start working again perfectly. And on top of that happening to me tonight my tire blew. Its been a lousy night.

The rice will absorb the water from the phone. My cusion droped her phone in some water then put it in rice and them it started ti work again.

It might work, just stick it in the rice and leave it in there dor about two days. Then see if it works. It might not work thougb, and warrenty/insurance doesn't cover it. So if I was you, I would start looking for a new phone.

  • Will or work if I put my iPhone in a rice bowl after a month of it getting wet? About a month ago my phone got sweat on the screen or it was too humid and hot and so the screen turned white with vertical lines on it but after 10 minutes it would go back to normal and now it does the same thing every morning. Will it still work to put it in a rice bowl?
  • Wet iphone currently on rice? So yesterday at 8pm i dropped my phone on water, i took it out almost immediately. I then turned it off and put it on rice. Today i took the phone out to show my mom, i pressed the home buttom and it was actually still on and the phone looked good from what i saw, no lines or anything weird on the screen, everything good. Is this a good sign?
  • Rice not helping wet iPhone? I had my iPhone3GS connected to a car charger, and it fell into the cooler full of water without me noticing. It could have been in there for at least 5-15min. I got home and put the phone into a bowl of rice. It had been flickering with light, but now there's no light): it won't turn on and I don't think the rice is helping. I don't have a license so I can't go get alcohol to put it in): please give me other ideas): thank you)
