Ebay: Buyer wants to return Apple ID Locked iPhone?
I sold an Apple ID Locked iPhone 4 on eBay. After the buyer gets it in the mail, he sends me a message saying
'Hi, so I got the item but its telling me that the owner has to remove the item from find my iphone cause its not letting me get into the phone by using my apple ID. So please can you remove it from your device?'
I write him back telling him that this is an Apple ID LOCKED iPhone. I specifically wrote that in the title of my ad. Further, I even put in the description 'This iPhone is Apple ID Locked. I do NOT know the User ID & Password to access this phone'.
He then writes me back saying:
'Hi, So since I can't use the device. I have to return it because I took it to the company and they could not fix it either.'
What do I say to him? I already mentioned clearly that this iPhone is Apple ID Locked. I'm not a business either so I'm not about to let this buyer get his way. I advertised everything perfectly. I even sold the phone for an EXTREMELY LOW PRICE. It sold for $40 with $2.99/shipping.
Should I write him back saying I'm sorry but I can't do that. This phone is Apple ID locked and that's what was advertised.
You advertised the device as it was.
Stupid *** customer didn't read.
Not your fault.
You will have to contact the original owner
Why would you sell something that no one can use? - you have to refund his money
So, you sold a stolen iPhone…
What happens if he takes this iPhone to the police?
I would refund the money As soon as possible.
The problem is that you DIDN"T disclose that you DIDN"T now the use iD to unlock it. It is a useless phone with out that information
Depends if you want to be in good standing or not. I would just refund him since you are selling a locked phone regardless if you mentioned it or not. Assuming of course its returned in the same condition as when you sent it to him.
- Sold iPhone on ebay now buyer wants me to unlock it? I recently sold my old iPhone 4s on ebay. The buyer contacted me a few days ago asking if I could go to att.com/deviceunlock and unlock it. It's free to me and he said he would gift me $20 on paypal if I do it. Is this legit or is this guy trying to pull something on me? It has a clean imei so it wouldn't be an issue, I just don't know if this is something that is going to get me into trouble
- I sold my very old iPhone 4s on eBay the buyer changed there mind didn't want the phone and shipped it back to me. Read on? Verizon now says phone is not a Verizon phone from inside number. So what did this New Mexico buyer do to my phone?
- I sent an iPhone over Ebay and the buyer is saying they haven't received it? Someone brought an iPhone of me on Ebay, we agreed on first class postage as they said it was okay. It's been 10 days and she is telling me she never received the phone. What do I do? She said she will complain to Ebay, will they take the money out of my bank account without my consent? (I don't have any money in there) or what? I definitely sent the phone. I will Record Deliver everything next time but can I really get into any legal troubles over this?
- Ebay buyer wants refund back? I sold my iphone 4s on ebay a few weeks ago and today the buyers emails me saying that the phone's Wi-Fi didn't work and it was water damaged. I have never spilled any liquids on my phone or dropped it so I know they are lying, I'm willing to refund their money back but I'm worried that they will send me a defective phone. What should I do?
