Forgot iPhone passcode, unable to turn off Find My iPhone, how do I get into iPhone?
My dad recently had a stroke and has resulting memory loss. He's starting to regain his cognitive functions and wants to use his iPhone to respond to the people who have been texting him, but he can't remember his pass code. I tried restoring his phone but it says that I have to turn off Find My iPhone to restore it. I tried going into iTunes to delete the app, but when I press "Remove," the button then says "Will Remove," and when I try to restore it, it still tells me to turn off or remove Find My iPhone. Is there any way to restore it from here or am I going to have to take it to the apple store and have them work on it?
Best thing to do would be to take it into an Apple store with all the information needed to prove ownership - payment details, etc. They'll reset the passcode.
Only Apple can remove that lock. You will either have to go to an Apple store or call up support but over the phone will take much longer.
It happened to my 5c once. All I did was deactivate it from Find My iPhone on another Find My iPhone capable device. But I WARN YOU. Although it erased all data in the iPhone something bad might happen. I couldn't activate my 5c and I went to an apple store and they said my 5c was like on lockdown or something and I have to send it with me to the country of purchase for it to be fixed. You encounter this after selecting the Wi-Fi you were gonna connect to. If you don't encounter this then just do the setup and use iCloud to restore all data.
