How are at&t and Verizon iPhone different?
I was trying to order a new Iphone backplate. I don't understand why one backplate would fit on one carriers iphone versus another even though the hardware themselves are exactly the same and from the same company?
Added (1). That's the thing, i would only be replacing the back-plate.nothing around the volume buttons.
Added (2). Okay that's interesting and all… However that still has nothing to do with the actual physical hardware. And I happened to have known that already anyways. Now that I've looked that up i'll share with you how GSM and CDMA differ. "What's the core difference? It all has to do with the way your data is converted into the radio waves that your cellphone broadcasts and receives." That was from a random website off of google. So, is there anyone that can give me an actual reason as to why the back plate, or back glass, would fit on networks iPhone 4 versus another networks iPhone 4?
Added (3). Sorry
would only fit on one of the networks iPhone 4, and not the other networks iPhone4?**
They are almost exactly the same, however I believe on the iPhone 4S the volume buttons are slightly higher on the AT&T version.
AT&T is a GSM network
Verizon is a CDMA network
Depending on the iPhone you are ordering for there's a difference between the 2 models which would explain that.
- Verizon iPhone 4 on a different carrier? I have an iPhone 4 from Verizon, I cancelled my contract a year ago so it has a clean ESN now. I want to put service on it, looking for $30-$50/mo, all I need is at least 200 minutes of Talk, nothing else. Does anyone know of a carrier that will add service to this phone at that price? I found a service called Straight Talk SIM for GSM/AT&T phones, and I was hoping for a similar service for CDMA phones. Please, and thank you.
- Using a Verizon iPhone 4 on a different network? How do i know if my iPhone is locked through Verizon and if it is how do i unlock it so i can use my iPhone through straight talk or Net 10?
- Two different computers, two different iTunes.can I use the same Apple ID? I have iTunes on my computer that I use for my iPhone, and my mon just got an iPod Touch and wants me to fill it for her. I'm going to use her computer to do this, which currently does not have iTunes. Once I download iTunes, can I use my own Apple ID to download songs and apps onto her iPod? Is it possible to do that without disturbing what's on my phone, or do I have to make a whole new iTunes account for her?
- I purchased a used Verizon iPhone 4 and want to activate it on my Verizon account? A friend uses her dad's old iPhone on her AT&T account as her phone without a data plan. I want to do the same and replace my 12 year old's flip phone. Verizon says I must purchase another data plan to activate this phone to my account. Any suggestions? Otherwise we're thru with Verizon.
