How can my eMail be kept on my iphone after deleting from server?
I've got a Yahoo Mail account linked to my iphone. It is set up using a standard Yahoo settings.
New eMail comes in OK & can be viewed.
But when it is viewed in Outlook on a desktop (which deletes it from the server), it then also deletes from the iphone.
Does anyone know any way to stop the iphone deleting to synchronise with the server. I only want it to download new eMail & for storage rules to be independent.
This works OK for other accounts running on POP & SMTP.
Don't quite understand the problem but my advice is to not use that feature
- Why doesn't email delete on the gmail server when I delete them on iPhone? I've removed the archive feature on iPhone. So I get the delete option for my emails. I'm using the EXCHANGE server on iPhone for email.
- What's the incoming/outgoing mail server for my .edu email account? I want to add my college email to my iPhone and it asks me for my Incoming mail server Host name: Username: Password: (my password) And host name and username & password for Outgoing Mail Server. Does anyone know what those could be or where I could find them?
- Server unavailable - can't access server - iPhone? Just wondering if anyone is having server issues? I've been unable to log on on my iPhone in about a week now. Keep getting 'server unavailable - please try again later' or 'can't access server'! I can access it if I go through safari app tho. Any advise would be great. Cheers
- Deleting emails off the server? I have an gmail account (and a bigpond account), and when I receive an email it gets pushed onto my iPhone, my other pcs, my mac, etc. I want to be able to read the email once, delete it, and then get it deleted from all the other devices before I have to manually delete each one. I've heard of this before, I think it is called 'deleting it off the server'. Any ideas? Maybe an Outlook setting?
