How to update my iOS on my iPhone?
I have an iPhone 3G and it is running on 4.2.1 iOS. When I plug it up to iTunes it says that it is updated, but clearly there are newer updated versions of the iOS. Does anyone know how I can update my iOS?
Do it from the iphone.go settings-general-software update
You can't 4.2.1 is the highest firmware for the iPhone 3G
Apple no longer supports the following iOS devices:
OG iPhone & iPod touch (1st gen): iOS 3.1.3 is the final version
iPhone 3G & iPod touch (2nd gen): iOS 4.2.1 is the final version
iPod touch (3rd gen) and OG iPad: iOS 5.1.x is the final version
I have listed links of devices supported under both iOS 5 and the upcoming iOS 6. You need an iPhone 3GS or later for both iOS 5 and 6.
- Update stopped during ios update own iphone now phones broke I connected my iPhone 4 to my computer (iTunes) and started doing the update through iTunes. About five minutes into the update iTunes in my computer stops working, causing the update to of course stop working. Now my phone will not turn on. On the screen it is black with the 'charge symbol' as if it were low on battery and an iTunes symbol. I have tried turning my phone off and on, but of course it didn't respond.
- New iOS 6 update, find my iPhone update? I don't like the new find my iPhone update is there a way to change back to the old find my iPhone but keep the new update? It's not showing locations like it used to and won't even how me major boroughs like Croydon. Streets are difficult to see, much smaller picture. General *** compared to the older version.
- Is the IOS UPDATE 11.2.2 update The one that is supposed to slow down the older Apple Phones? If this is the one, I don't want that. I have an IPhone 6s+.
- Is the iOS 6.1 update on iPhone 3 safe to update? On my first iPhone there were problems, and the update didn't help it wiped out everything and among other things had to get a new iPhone. The iPhone I have now works, so should I risk this update? It's a 3GS.
