You can try it but i don't no if it will work if it went right in the water

I just Dropped my iPhone 4 in the toilet, was in there for about 8 seconds before I grabbed it. I was bummed and bought a POS go phone, My iPhone sat out for a day and a half, My buddy told me about the rice trick, I tried it with out getting my hopes up. I left it in there for 3 days. I took it out and plugged it into my charger and BAM! The little Apple showed up! Fully back to normal! So Stoked. Be sure to Back it up right when it turns on though.

A day.

But then, what does this have to do with DINING OUT?

You did the right thing by putting it in rice. I've known people that have dropped their iPhones in the toilet, put it in a bowl of rice overnight, and it worked perfectly fine.

It's important that you don't change any settings, plug it in, or turn it on or off. You don't want any water to get in anywhere it wasn't already.

If it's been in there for a day, that should be a sufficient amount of time.

  • Water logged iphone? How long do I leave it in rice? My iphone SE was sitting in a big puddle on the counter for about 15 min before I noticed. The phone was still in working condition but had a few dark and blurry spots on the screen. I went to get rice and the spots seemed to have spread. I put rice in a ziplock bag and completely covered my phone in the rice. The bag was sealed and I'm wondering how long I need to leave the phone inside? I need to use my phone the next day and I'm not sure if it will be alright.
  • How long should I leave my wet iphone in rice? I was pouring milk into my cereal bowl this morning, and the milk container ended up pouring all on my iphone 4S. When it got wet, it wasn't completely soaked, but it's not like it was just a splash of milk either. I think the milk managed to get in some of the cracks. I really don't think it is as bad as an iphone being dropped in water completely, so I'm thinking that I don't need to keep it in rice for as long. How long should I keep it in the rice?
  • How long should I leave my wet iphone in rice? - 1 It only had a little water on it, maybe a 1/8th of a cup. I dried it off as fast as I could, and turned it off. I got my brother to take it apart, and dry some of the main parts. The back is still off of it, and both of them are sitting in the rice. Since it wasn't dropped in water, and its apart in rice, how long should i leave it?
  • How long should I leave my iPhone in rice for? I dropped my iPhone 4 into a (shallow) bowl of water. It was in a two-layer OtterBox with all of the flaps closed, and was only in the water for maybe two seconds. I took it out of the case, dried it off, and put it in rice right away. I want to take it out and see if it works or not, but should I wait twenty-four hours anyways?
