How long should i let my iphone sit in rice? - 1

Last night I dropped my iphone in the toilet for about 4 seconds, turned it on, it didn't work. So i held down the home button and the power button for a long time and the apple just stayed on there a flickered a bit, and an hour after sitting in rice it didn't turn on at all (I know i was stupid for turning it on, but at the time i was at my friends house and my parents needed to call me)

I didn't take the battery out either ( i didn't have the right tools.) So its been in rice all evening and overnight too. I haven't touched it.

I would say let it sit in rice for a week. If that does not work, then I would say it is time to get a new phone.

Most electronics take at the very least a day to dry out. Let it sit in the rice for a day without worrying about it, check every day for a week or so. If it doesn't switch on you may upon it up, if you know how to do so correctly without damaging it more, and try to see which parts were effected.
If you do know how to open it up, then you may do so and leave it open while it sits in the rice. Make sure the rice is clean and not dusty otherwise that'll get rice dust in your phone. But that can help it dry inside out faster. Also, if your opening it, take out the battery and keep it separately.

  • I dropped my iphone in the sink. Its still works. How long should i keep it in rice? I dropped it. it was fully submerged for about 2 seconds I had an otterbox defender prob why it still works How long before i take it out of rice
  • How long should i put my iPhone in rice after water Damage? I had my phone in my pocket and without noticing i jumped in my pool with my buddies, I stayed in there for about 1:30 minutes and I got out of the pool immediately and tried to turn it off but my iphone didn't respond so I took the SIM out and dried it and placed it on a bag of rice with silica gel packs. How long should i keep it there? Or should I call a repair company?
  • How long should I leave my wet iphone in rice? I was pouring milk into my cereal bowl this morning, and the milk container ended up pouring all on my iphone 4S. When it got wet, it wasn't completely soaked, but it's not like it was just a splash of milk either. I think the milk managed to get in some of the cracks. I really don't think it is as bad as an iphone being dropped in water completely, so I'm thinking that I don't need to keep it in rice for as long. How long should I keep it in the rice?
  • How long should I leave my wet iphone in rice? - 1 It only had a little water on it, maybe a 1/8th of a cup. I dried it off as fast as I could, and turned it off. I got my brother to take it apart, and dry some of the main parts. The back is still off of it, and both of them are sitting in the rice. Since it wasn't dropped in water, and its apart in rice, how long should i leave it?
