How to activate my iPhone 5S?
I visited Mongolia this week and I bought a Mongolian MobiCom Sim Card. I bought the iPhone 5S from Los Angeles. It worked fine when I inserted the Sim Card. But after I updated my iPhone it suddenly went through the activation screen. When I was about to finish it, there was an error: Invalid Sim Card. I went to the shop and told them what happened and they said it needed to be activated again for 150$. How can I activate my iPhone? Can I do it for free? I'm not sure if the phone is factory unlocked. The sim card they gave me had a platelete or something like that. Anyway thanks in advance!
Iphone have the problem like unlock, activation an so on. They charge hundreds of dollars just for unlock. If you want to unlock your phone i would suggest you to do a jailbreak as it is much cheaper than Genuine Unlock and open many possibilities to your phone. I just want to suggest as u stated that you want to save $150 so Jailbreaking your phone may be a good option.
Sounds like your phone is locked to a carrier back in the states. You're not alone. Hope this helps…

Like full on broke nto covered by insurance… I found a Verizon iPhone 4 for sale for like 70 bucks in great condition from someone on craigslist. If I buy that, can I go into Verizon with it and have them activate it for me and have it be my new phone? Does this make sense?
