How to block yourself from texting a number on the IPhone 5?

I do NOT want to text my ex boyfriend, but it gets very tempting when it's late at night or I'm (very) drunk. Is there anyway to block myself from texting him? I still want to be able to receive texts from him.

And I don't want to delete his number
