How to connect your home internet to the Iphone 4? - 1

I have the Iphone 4 and its confusing me. When I go to click on settings it won't let me click on Wi-Fi to connect it just says "no Wi-Fi". How can I connect my internet on my phone to my home wireless modem?

Also, when i click on settings > general > network > what does VPN stand for? Even beneath that it says no Wi-Fi: S
when I click bluetooth it never loads either
Someone please help me in this! Haha x

Added (1). There's no slide to turn anything on, it simply won't let me click on Wi-Fi

No offence but have you just clicked on Wi-Fi or did you slide that little virtual switch to ON position? If you slide it the as soon as Wi-Fi ON you will be able to see the list of networks available
As for the VPN it stand for the "virtual private network" and used for ether corp.network connections while you away or simply for internet privacy reasons-to cut the long story short I don't think you will need it as well as myself.

Its really easy, go to Wi-Fi in your settings and all available connections will show. Be aware that it depends how you setup your router too, for example you probably then need to enter the key when you try to connect, whatever key you used in your router setup to only allow specific devices to connect.

All other devices such as laptops, phones and tablets connects just fine. I tried connecting it to my iphone's hotspot and it works. I tried to unistall and reinstall the wireless adapter but still won't work. I also tried to reboot the router and even tried to change the channel but still failed to make it work.
