How to download data from Iphone to windows laptop?

My macbook is dead, it simply won't start. That means I no longer have access to my master Itunes library, my iphone is the last source to the music that used to be in my macbook. Now I would want to implement those songs into my windows itunes (which is empty of songs at the moment), but I have no clue on how to do that. I've tried backing them up once (as long as other files such as pictures on my phone), but it turns out that the backed up data has became unreadable documents.

After a few experiements connecting my iphone 4s to the fujitsu laptop using the apple cord, I found that I could directly drag the photo files onto my desktop. This however, was not as straight forward for music. I'm currently clueless on how I could move the music into my computer, and am asking for assistance. Anyone could lend a helping hand?

I BELIEVE your iPhone has to be jailbroken for this, but you can see if it works without being jailbroken,
I honestly can't tell you, because my iPod Touch 5th gen is jailbroken and I have this option. Download iFunbox from http://dl.i-funbox.com/ifunbox_setup.exe Install it, plug in your iPhone, close iTunes if it opens(Just to be safe I guess?) Once it detects your iPhone, at the top go to iFunbox classic, and at the left you should see something that looks like a drop down list, and somewhere in that list you should see Recovery Music and Videos. If you do not see that option, I would suggest jailbreaking your iPhone, and if you don't want it to be jailbroken, just restore it afterwards, at least you'll have your music.
