How to get a iPhone 5 to charge when it was only damp, not completely broken?

I used my iPhone 5 in the water with a water proof case a couple days ago. After I got out I noticed the screen was discolored and the ringer didn't work, but other than that, my phone worked fine. After I used the battery up on my phone. I plugged in my phone, but as it turned on it stayed at 4% and never went up and charged. It finished when I used it and turned off. I have been putting it in rice for the past 3-4 days at 12 hour increments. Any insight or help would be greatly appreciated.

It seems like you've let it dry completely but I really think you should talk to Apple Support about getting it replaced. I think that would be your best option.

It is water damaged. You need it fixed.

  • When apple replaces a broken iphone, do you get to keep the old broken one? The back camera on my iPhone 4s broke (just stopped working), so I called Apple and I have an appointment set up to replace the old phone with a brand new one. But, I want to know if when they give me the new phone, will they let me keep the old one? The phone still works fine except for the camera. In fact, it's almost perfect. And obviously I want to sell the old one on ebay to make a boat load.
  • My IPhone works completely fine sometimes but a lot of times I can't use it and it's completely unresponsive to my touch? I scheduled an appointment to fix my very cracked screen and I was just wondering if this will fix my problem for sure or is there something else that may be causeing the screen to be unresponsive?
  • My iphone is completely broken, but I need pictures off of it? I recently dropped my iPhone 5s on concrete and it shattered. It won't turn on and my computer won't recognize it. I've charged it fully, but still nothing. Right before I dropped it, I had taken some really great pictures from my vacation. I checked my icloud, but my pictures didn't transfer over to it. How can I get my photos? They're really important to me and I don't live anywhere close to an apple store.
  • My iphone 5 is completely broken, i want to sell it to gazelle.com? The screen is cracked with hammer, it does not power one, and I can even see the inside from the screen which is exposed a bit. So how can i still sell it for 80 dollars on gazelle.com? Is this some kind of trick or is it real? I just inquired a box from them waiting to send my iphone to them, and i get 80 dollars for a piece of waste? I just don't understand why would they pay 80 dollars for a piece of metal. Can someone explain please?
