How to get iPhone 4 out of recovery mode?
I tried to download iOS 7 yesterday but halfway through it bricked and went into recovery mode with the iTunes logo on it. I tried Tiny Umbrella and RecBoot to fix it but they won't work. Whenever I press ''Exit recovery'' on them my phone turns off, the apple logo comes up, and it just goes back into it. I don't want to restore it because I don't have it backed up (That I know of) and I'll lose over 5, 000 pictures, some I can't replace. Is there a way to fix this without deleting the data? Restoring it is my last resort.
You may have to reconnect it to a computer, but if you hold the home and power buttons at the same time it will do a soft reset possibly making you not have to restore it or connect to iTunes.
You have to connect it to a computer. Always back up before updating.
You will lose all 5, 000 pictures, it is impossible to get out of recovery mode without a full restore. Apple support will say the same thing.
It is not there fault you never backed up or copied your photos to somewhere else. What if the phone was lost or destroyed? You'd be crying wouldn't you? ALWAYS back up (preferably to iTunes) before any type of upgrade.
