How to get my verizon iphone unlocked so I can get on StraightTalk?

I'm still on a contract with verizon but want to get on straighttalk. My parents pay the bill but haven't paid it in a while and don't plan on due to verizon charging for what we don't have and won't fix it. I bought a straight talk kit but is saying the phone is locked. How do I fix it?

Take the phone down to Verizon, and get it unlocked. That is, if Verizon is willing to do so.

As long as there's money owed on the account they will not unlock the phone

Would I be able to unlock her phone to use with StraightTalk? I've been TOLD that Verizon will only allow you to unlock their phones for international use only. & I've also been told that if the Verizon phone is unlocked, I still won't be able to use it with another carrier. Can anyone clear this up for me?

  • Straighttalk iPhone SIM activation for already Straighttalk activated phone? It says I need a $45 service plan card to activate the SIM card, but is there a way to do it without? My phone has $45 service plan active right now, my SIM card is just malfunctioning, so I need a new one. Or do I have to do it when I refill, no other option?
