How to get past the activation screen on an iPhone if it asks for the pervious owners Apple ID?

I just recently bought an IPhone off of eBay. But when it arrived and I went to set it up, it said it was already activated under the previous owners Apple ID. Where you have to log into an apple account. Now I have tried several times to contact the owner so I could get passed this screen, but they won't answer. I gave it about a week and a half, I'm becoming impatient. Is there anyway I could get passed this screen without the Apple ID and password?

Not without spending money, you can't. Seems like the phone has activation lock and the seller who sold you, got it from someone else and got rid of it. If you can think of spending money for the issue, mail me for more info.

One way is to Reset your iphone

No.

As the recent highly publicised case involving the FBI proved, you can't bypass Activation Lock without a huge anount of trouble and expense.

You will find loads of scammers offerring to take your money though as you've been a mug once already by purchasing a useless phone and they fancy their chances of skinning you again.

As the seller won't answer it more or leas confirms that you're now in possession of a stolen phone. Your money is gone and the being in possession of stolen goods is a liability, so contact police and arrange to hand it in. There might be a small insurance reward for the successful recovery but there will definitely be a very relieved and happy owner who may have lost vital data on that phone.

No, there's no way to get past the activation screen without the password. That's one of the disadvantages of buying a stolen iPhone, and it's by design.

Nope. First, don't contact the scammer who claims he can help. He can't, but he'll be happy to scam you out of MORE money. Second, resetting only works IF you know the password.

Other than that, you bought a stolen phone and unless you are in the process of turning it in to an Apple Store, the phone company to which it is connected, or the police, you are guilty of possession of a stolen device and subject to the same penalties (as in jail) as if you stole it yourself. Turn it in and give all of the info about the one who sold it and also contact eBay so that they can work on finding the scammer as well. If you paid via PayPal, or via credit card, contact them as well.
