How to get videos from the iphone to a dell laptop?

For school i have to do a video project and i filmed it on my iphone 4s because me nor any of my group members had a video camera. When i plugged my iphone into the computer to transfer everything the videos didn't come over but the pictures did. I used the app video editor free to put all the videos together. When i emailed it to myself to download it onto my computer i tried to download it but it said there was something wrong with the codec. I tried to download handbrake to change the codec but i have no idea what i'm doing! Any help would be appriciated! Thankou.

Every time I plug my phone in to my laptop it always pulls up "import pictures/videos" well now when I plug my phone in it won't do that anymore. I don't know why.   • Why do I have to restart my Dell laptop to reconnect to the internet? I have Wi-Fi internet with Charter but we have a lot of connection problems. My ipad and iphone automatically reconnects as soon as internet if availible again but my laptop has to be restarted for me to get back on the internet is there something I can change in the settings to fix this?
  • Using Personal Hotspot with my DELL Laptop? Ok, so this idea just hit me. If I turn on the "Personal Hotspot" on my iPhone 5c (with 3G service on), and connect it to my computer via USB, will it make my laptop internet faster as well? The 3G service is So much more faster on my iPhone 5c than on my DELL Laptop! So will this help my laptop if I select my iPhone on the internet connection?
