How to get your old backup from iCloud on iphone 4?

Last time I updated my phone something went wrong. All it showed was a picture to plug it into your computer, so I did and opened up iTunes. Somehow my phone got reformatted, and it asked if I wanted to recover a backup from the iCloud.
I was given three choices but since my family shares the iCloud I didn't know which to choose. They all said iPhone and gave a time and date it was backed up. So I just chose the most recent backup. Which I found out was my Mom's because I started getting everything she had on her phone. I didn't know what to do so I just went with it, deleted everything I didn't need and just downloaded everything I had before.
It's been a couple months now since I've done this, and we're just now realizing that we both are sharing a few apps. It's annoying to both of us but I don't know how to change it back. I also don't want to try fixing it on my own and possibly screw both of our phones up in the process.
So is there a way to get back my old backup before this happened, or is it possible for me to create a brand new backup for my phone so we both stop sharing apps?

The backups will be for your phone if your logged into your icloud account.

in the settings menu on your phone, you should see 'icloud' (if it's installed) and you can download the last backup from there.

it's best to use the newest backup to restore from. Connect through Wi-Fi and download/restore the backup.
