How to import iPhone 4 videos to Windows 8 computer?

Whenever I hook up my USB to my iPhone 4, it says the USB isn't recognized and to try again, but the same thing happens over and over. What do I do? I really need to edit a video, but I can't even hook it up with the computer. Again, it's a Windows 8 and I hate it so much because it's so confusing, I can't figure it out. Some genius, please, I'm begging you.

Try sending the video to yourself from your iPhone using Mail.

Then go to your computer and access your email inbox and download the video to your computer.

Help with this program "Wondershare MobileGo for iOS"(download your comp)

Install iTunes for Windows. Http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Then your media files will be visible in itunes. You can then customize your files after importing or copying them into your PC.

What do you want to do? Try again, Skip this file, Skip all files with errors." The phone was unlocked and it still did not work.
