How to kick iPhones off of Wi-Fi?
My brother has a bunch of friends over and he gave them the Wi-Fi code without my permission. I don't want them using our Internet for various reasons. Is there anyway to kick them off?
Change the Wi-Fi password or unplug the cablemodem from the router… They will still be connected to the network but won't be able to get to the internet and it will drive them crazy.
It is time to manage the mess.
First, change the encryption to WPA2 if it is not WPA2.
Second, change the wireless access password to a strong one that is at least 12 characters long, upper and lower case with numbers and characters. Do not issue this out.
Third, implement MAC address validation AND permit ONLY those devices with the MAC addresses you enter in the validation table. You must enter the MAC addresses of the wireless network interface of the devices you wish to permit onto your wireless LAN in the validation table of the wireless access point. This takes a little time but needs to be done.
Fourth, reconfigure all devices you wish to permit access.
Fifth, disable the SSID broadcast.
Finally keep others off the router by changing the router's password.
