How to manage photo folders in iPhones 4s (camera roll vs photo stream)?

I have iphone 4s, as usual that all pic are stored in "Camera Roll" folder, but I noticed there's a new folder called "Photo Stream" has been created and store the same pic too, thats make my storage space to be full very quick, and whenever I take a pic a camera copy will be stored in camera roll and another one will be in photo stream,
why iphone to make a such duplication which will minimize the storage capacity,
if I delete all pic in "photo stream" this will save lot of space, and I still have one copy at the first folder "cameral roll: is that right? And how to delete this folder and not come bac to appear again?

It stores up to 1000 photos
each photo only lasts for 30 days
this is an automatic iCloud feature

get used to it or stop using the cloud

  • When you delete photos from your Photo Stream does it delete from your Camera Roll? Hi, I'm running out of storage on my phone so I thought the best thing to do would be to delete some photos, and obviously my photo stream folder uses up tons of space, but when I delete photos from the photo stream do they delete from camera roll too? Or vice versa? Obviously I'm using Apple (iPhone 5C) please answer quickly and thanks x

  • Photo stream vs Camera roll on my iPhone? I know the difference between the photo stream and camera roll on an iphone, but the only Apple device I have is my phone itself. Can I just delete all the pictures in my photo stream since they are already on my camera roll? I feel like they take up a lot of storage I could be using for other pictures, music, etc.
  • IOs6 how to remove embarrassing photo on photo stream? So I took a few photos I don't want the rest of my family seeing and they where uploaded to photo stream. I have iOS6.1 and i don't know what the rest of my family have of their iPhones, but they have iOS 5 or higher. I turned off photo stream right after and it said that it was deleting the photos. I stored them on an app before deleting the photos as well before turning off photo stream. How can I remove the photos off photo stream if they already haven't been removed?
