How to monitor text messages sent to or from my child's iPhones?

My 10 and 12 year olds have iPhones and I'd like to be able to keep an eye on their SMS conversations. Is there an app I can purchase that would allow me to pull them up online? AT&T was clueless about this when asked…

Okay, I understanding getting your kids phones is a parental choice, and everyone arguing over that fact can CHILL. It is also a parents choice whether to monitor their children, BUT I feel like you need to give your children freedom, BECAUSE if they find out you are doing this, they WILL NEVER forgive you, because again it is their lives, not yours, I know you want to protect them but you are crossing a line with monitoring them! ANYWAY you can go to AT&T and ask for their history of Text Messages, or THERE's an app… Called Teensafe (http://www.teensafe.com) Looked at the website and the first week is FREE to monitor their History (search history, bookmarks), Texts (Deleted Texts), Know Their Location, and Track Calls and Call Logs! BUT… Again remember this is a VERY VERY important thing to trust your child and give them privacy so they can become independent, and able to trust… ANYWAY good luck!

Why would a 10 year old and a 12 year old even own an iPhone?
If you really are worried about what they do with such an advanced device you shouldn't give it to them, but if you want to keep in touch with them over mobile connection, don't get them an iPhone, give them something simple

I don't think there's a plan to be able to monitor their conversations. I do know there's a plan though that lets you see what number they are texting or calling. It also gives the time they sent them if I remember correctly.

An old coworker of mine was able to check on her kids messages. All their messages were sent to her phone (in addition to the intended recipient) without them knowing that.

Unfortunately, I'm not entirely sure how she was able to check them, but I imagine that perhaps she had some Settings (or iCloud?) that enabled her to do so.

Honestly don't read your kids conversations it'll just make them really annoyed with you, and if you're the kind of person to do that, you probably raised your kids so if there was something serious they'd tell you

You can install an invisible parental control software like iKeyMonitor on your kids' iPhones to help you keep an eye on their SMS conversations.

  • Why didn't I receive text messages people sent while I was away? - 1 I was away in Italy and I took my cell phone, but turned off roaming and data. Anyway, when we got back my sister received text messages people sent while she was away, but I didn't. People told me they texted me and I never got them. I don't this guy to think I'm ignoring him if he also sent me a text while I was away. I have an iPhone and my carrier is Verizon.
  • Is it possible to see the text messages that your child receives? My girlfriend has Verizon, and she has an iphone. Her parents say they can read her texts. However, can they not read the texts i send her? I'd think that would be a no, but i'm not sure. She is 17 at the moment. Remember, the texts she receives.
  • How to monitor my child's internet access? I recently bought my 11 year old son an iphone. How do i monitor his internet access, set parental controls, and make sure he isn't visiting any sites he shouldn't?
  • How to get text messages sent to my lost iPhone? So I lost my iPhone 2 days ago, and my friend didn't know and he sent me a text last night. Is there any way I could read it? He won't tell me what he sent. Like can I read it through imessage or something? Does iCloud save text messages?
