How to play music from iPhone to car? - 1
So I drive a 2007 Pontiac G6 and I was wondering how (if) I can play music from my iPhone through the speakers in my car. Here's the thing: I don't have an auxiliary jack, and then I also heard that you can get something to plug into the tape slot, but I don't have one of those either. Does anyone know of anything else? It's really annoying because I have to keep burning my music to CDs and I'm tired of listening to the same cd all the time and having to keep switching them.

You can go and get a single din aftermarket head unit installed. I hooked one up a few years ago. Headunit itself cost about $40 used off craigslist, a conversion kit(plastic that makes the dash look original) was about $20. Wire harness was about $15. You can hire someone to install it for you or do it yourself. You just need to know how to take the old radio out and how to connect the harness.
Normally a tape slot is cheaper. I don't know if they make this for your car but I know that for mine, they made this adapter that you wire into the back of your stereo, and have it sticking out from the dash somewhere so you can plug your iphone/ipod into it. The adapter was about $120 so I still think doing a single din conversion is cheaper.
The immediate solution that does not cost big bucks is to buy an iPhone FM adapter that plugs into a cigarette lighter and you use an unused FM radio station to listen to your music. Quick and cheap solution, however, the sound quality will suck.
Long term solution? You buy an aftermarket deck, as mentioned. Even cheap ones should have USB inputs in this day & age.
