How to remove all these ads?

I had to make a video for a school project and installed this video editor. Upon installing it, it said I had a bunch of these going wrong with my computer (I believed this because my computer is awful). And I did. But then I realized both of these spurred on some trouble.

I deleted both programs and uninstalled them through my control panel, but I get a ton of ads all over the place. Right now the one above is from "Apple" saying: "This is not a joke! There's (1) iPhone waiting to be won" and it's in different colours. Same thing to my right.

I tried doing rescue and recovery but that didn't help at all

run a full scan, it should detect all adware currently installed in your system and remove it.

If any program other than a legitimate virus protection program that you purposely installed tells you that your computer has a virus, it's lying. Close it, if that doesn't work (if you have pc) hit ctrl-alt-dlt go to task manager click on the video program and delete it. Download Spybot (NOT spyware) Search and Destroy, run a full scan and immunization. Also download Avast! And Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. They all catch different things, so run them all. A scan can take quite a while depending on how many files you have on your computer. Try not to turn your computer off or close the lid, viruses get a deeper grip on your machine when it's off and it turns back on. Spybot is usually the best at getting rid of ads so run that one first, it works miracles and makes your machine run faster too.

You should first look to see if it says "ads not by this site" or anything else around it. Google search if it does say anything. Then you should run an antivirus/malware scan with either what you have now, or AVAST if you don't have an antivirus. Deleting the programs that gave you the virus won't help because the virus runs as a different program, the virus/malware scan should show you what it is, and the words around the ad (if there are any) should tell you what to search.

Check for viruses. Change your Security options in System Preferences, and make it so that only programs from known authors will be opened.

OK- WHY didn't you tell what the name of the program was, which windows version/anti-virus program, etc? Your stating: "I had a bunch of these going wrong with my computer (I believed this because my computer is awful)." leads me to believe you have been infested even before you became more infested and your toying around with it is only making matters worse. Turn it off, grab a blank CD and get on another computer to make a Rescue CD. I would prefer you made a F-Secure Rescue CD as their virus definitions are top rated but you have to be a slightly advanced user to understand the instructions in using it, so a more simple alternative is here: http://www.avg.com/us-en/226386 Follow the directions there WORD FOR WORD and make sure you update the definitions. If you still have issues after running the virus scan Please offer SOME useful information when posting your question. Best of luck.

People are so gullible. I just don't understand why.

To remove adware use AdwCleaner and Junkware removal tool. Then Malwarebytes Antimalware. If you have more malware, use Rkill, TDSSkiller, Malwarebytes Antirootkit, SuperAntiSpyware, CCleaner, and an Antivirus. I suggest Avast.
