How to save my IPhone 4 from being through the washing machine?

I noticed a thumping noise inside the washing machine than I went to go get my phone and it was not there and than I ran to the washing machine because I was curious of what that sound was and I dug around to find my iPhone.
I'm pretty sure the Phone was in there for about 15-20 minutes and I ws wondering is there any hope of recovering it?

Nope sorry get a new one.

First put it in a bag of rice to soak up the water inside it. Then, put it in the freezer for a few hours. And lastly, don't forget to turn if on and off (;

Yes, you need to recover it first from the washing machine and then put it in a bag of rice. If it does not work, take it to an authorized repair center.

  • My iphone 5s went on a washing machine and it turns on and the screen too but the touch dosent work? I tried putting it in rice and drying it with a hair drier or blow drier everything works except the touch and the screen has a white strap going down and you can see the water or water stains any suggestions
  • My iphone 5 was in the washing machine It was in the pocket of a pair of sweatpants for about 5 minutes by the time i realized i had left it in there the water had just started to run. My phone was wet but there didn't seem to be too much damage. The music still played fine and i could hear people on calls. But then i noticed a screen discoloration in the bottom left corner! Is this bad? Do i need to go to the Apple Genius Bar or to the Verizon store? I'm soaking it in rice now and it is still in warranty.

  • IPhone dongle went through washing machine? I accidentally left the dongle (lightning to aux adapter) in the pocket of a jacket that went through the washing machine. The cord s completely dry, so is there any harm in trying to plug it into the iPhone and an aux cord to see if it still works?
