How to save my iPhone after falling in water?

I knocked my phone by my elbow into my hot tub and it was only in water for less than 5 seconds. When I pulled it out I immediately dried it and tried sucking the water out from any holes. It was in a rubber case so I imagine thats why it was fairly okay. The buttons work. The top and bottom but the LED light came on. The actual screen comes on and looks like its working fine but I can't slide the screen to enter my password or anything. So basically everything but the screen works, even through the screen still comes on display when I turn the display on. I'm imagining it's not that damaged if it's just the screen, but I don't know what to do?

Put it in a cup full of rice and let it stand for 24 hrs that will soak the water from inside

This has happened 2 me too, I did the same thing at first too, afterward I put it into a bag of white rice and after a day it was fine, the rice will absorb the water

Vacuum… Remove the battery… Take a Shop-Vac and vacuum the hell out of the phone, hitting every crevice and port for 4-5 minutes

Remove the battery and protective cover, (disassemble as much as you can) and let it stand for 24 hours to drain all of the water out and let the electronics reset

Put it in a moderately warm (not hot) oven for about an hour or two to evaporate the moisture out. Be sure to turn it off before inserting in oven.

You can wrap it in towels - paper towels will do. DO NOT put it in rice - I rue the day that nugget came out. Rice produces dust that gets in the machine and is nearly impossible to remove. Some people are lucky; some are not. The Knuckles method is good also, although the iPhone has a battery that is not practical to remove.

Since its an iphone you can't take apart or remove battery. I DONOT recommend you put it in an oven for that reason. I do recommend you try putting it in white dry rice covering the whole phone for about 24 hours.

RICE DOES WORK IF YOU DO IT RIGHT, & IF THE DEVICE HASN'T ALREADY SHORTED OUT,
You need to be aware that when an electrical device gets wet on the inside of it, most times it shorts out if it is on, or if you try to turn it on.
If you know the device was on & now it doesn't show any signs of life, DON'T try & turn it on.
Just PULL the battery if possible.
If you try to turn on a device when it is wet, just to see if it still works, chances are very high you WILL damage it permanently.

Unless you have insurance that covers this or a money tree, then try the rice.

By wrapping it in a towel you will get the same results as if you put it in your pocket. Nowhere fast.

It needs to be in a warm place that…
1. Will force evaporation
and
2. Will absorb the condensation that's created during evaporation.

Disassemble as much as YOU can. Battery, cover, etc…

Put 1 to 2 cups of DRY uncooked white rice in a Ziplock bag.
****** The dry dusty kind is best ****
Wrap the part with the screen in a layer of tissue to prevent the rice dust from entering it.
Lay the device on top of the rice.SCREEN SIDE DOWN
Zip the bag closed.

As everyone knows, a car gets hot in the sun, especially with the windows up
Place the bag in the rear window of a car " IN THE SUN ".
Then lay a dark colored towel over it.
Being without a phone sucks but in 1 to 2 days, it will dry it out completely.
If it wasn't shorted out when it got wet, it will work again.
