How to send an iMessage to an American contact?
I live in Ireland. I'm trying to send an iMessage to my friend who lives in the states. She gave me her mobile number (her iMessage is on her iPhone) but I can't send the message! The send button is grey. Do I have to put a prefix number (001) before her mobile number or anything?
I think you have it right, 001 then area code / number. Have them send you a text then you can just reply and have it saved.
- My iMessage not working on specific contact? So iMessage works on all my other friends with iPhones but one day at school I turned iMessage off because the messages weren't sending and I used regular text messages. Now that person I was texting only gets regular text messages from me but other iPhone friends can still get iMessages. My friend also has an iPhone but why can't I turn iMessage back on for that contact?

At random times, whenever I try to iMessage my friend who has just a iPod Touch, where you type in the message will say "Text Message" instead of "iMessage." is there a way to fix this so it will always send as a iMessage instead of Text?
- IMessage won't send to another iPhone with iMessage? So my iMessage works to all my friends that have iMessage except one friend in particular. He has iMessage on his phone and can iMessage all his friends but he can't iMessage me. We both have iMessage turned on on our phones but they simply will not iMessage each other.
- IMessage not working with only one contact? I have an iPhone 4, as does my friend. We had been imessaging when all of a sudden it wouldn't send. I double tapped send and set it to send as a text, but now it will not go back to imessage. I can still imessage everyone else, just not him and its driving me crazy! Any help would be appreciated. I've turned airplane mode and imessage on and off, restarted phone, deleted contact and message thread. Nothing works.
