How to unlock an iphone5/5s i found?
So a year ago, I found an iphone5/5s (not sure) in a cab. It was low battery so I was only able to turn it on a few days later. Now, the problem is the owner had reset the phone via icloud and now I can't access anything. The owner says "iphone lost. If found contact" but that's like a year ago so I doubt he still cares about it now. How do I unlock it?

How about you lose something that's valuable - we'll just assume that you don't care about it any more? It's your own fault that the owner hasn't been able to find the phone. Why did you even bother to take the phone from the taxi? If you left it in the cab the owner could have tracked it down. The driver could have tracked the owner down. It happens all he time. You see stories like that in the papers all the time. You've basically stolen that phone. The only people who can answer this question are iPhone owners, like the one you stole that phone from.
Nothing you could do. Doesn't matter if it was a year + ago still not yours.
Only way past iCloud Activation Lock is to enter the password.

A message from the owner showed up after reseting it and I called that number and texted it repeatedly but no answer. So i'm thinking of giving it to my sister since her phone broke but its locked from icloud. What can i do? I have the phones MEID & IMEI number. - What are my options? Its a waste to just throw it away.
