How to upload Windows Media Player playlist into iTunes playlist?

I have a PC with Windows 8 and I have always kept my music on my computer organized in playlists using Windows Media Player. I recently got an iphone and I want to upload all of my music to my iphone. The only problem is that when I uploaded my music to iTunes, it created a big list of all the hundreds of songs that I have and I'm trying to figure out a way to upload the saved playlists that I have on my computer. I know how to create playlists on iTunes, but it would take me hours to recreate all the playlists again on iTunes. Is there anyway that I can add the playlists already created with Windows Media Player to iTunes, like a conversion or something?

I don't believe it's possible - even though a playlist is just a list of songs & their locations. Check if iTunes supports M3U playlists. Then you can re-save your Windows Media Player playlists as M3U - the default is WPL.

  • Moving from Windows Media Player to iTunes? I have a folder on my PC called Films. I wish to move this to my iPhone. I tried dragging - does not work. Any other ideas. Please be clear.
  • IPhone/Windows Media Player? Basically what's happened is that WMP says please connect a device even though on my iPhone says it is charging which means it must be plugged into the laptop! How would I get past this and send a video or sound track to my iPhone! Even a suggestion would be great!
