I dropped my iPhone 4 into a toilet?

All the buttons work and I have reception, but there are a few spots on the screen that are darker/lighter than the rest. I've had it in rice for a few hours, and the spots are getting smaller. The whole screen was messed up when I turned it on, so I was just wondering if they were permanent or if they'll go away eventually.

It'll go away if you leave it in rice for 2 days

Try putting it in rice again? I'm sure that it's not permanent.

Maybe not probably. Your iPhone 4 will be OK after several days. I also suffered the same accident, but my iPhone 4S became OK after I let it alone several days. So just let it alone.

The only thing that annoyed me is some of my text messages and notes were gone after that. Since some of my text messages are very important, so I use an iPhone data recovery software called Tenorshare iPhone data recovery to recover the lost messages. And by the way lost notes.

Dip it in rice for a day to make the liquid go away. That should do the trick. Then try again after that.

Hope this helps.

  • If I dropped an Iphone 3gs into a toilet, what parts of it would probably work? Ok so I dropped an Iphone 3gs in the toilet, I'm trying to figure out which parts of it still work so I can sell them. I'm wondering if the lcd screen will still work after being submerged in water? Can the glass and digitizer still work?

  • I dropped my iphone in the toilet and after it went all black and won't turn on? I had dropped my iphone in the toilet and it was fine for about 2 hours then it just went black and won't turn on. What do i do to fix it?
  • I dropped my Iphone 5 into the toilet? It was in my pocket then it fell into the toilet. I immediately took it out and dried it. It works fine, no problem. At first there was a problem with the speaker but now its fine. But it says "This cable or accessory is not certified and may not work reliably" even though I'm not using any. Is it safe to charge it? I turned it on and off and this is the only problem I have.
